Iga Innovation Days 2011 was held from November 17 - 19, attracting over 7,000 visitors. Attendees were thrilled by the exhibition of next generation machines, such as ultrasonic and laser offerings, as well as conventional machine tools appropriate for a wide range of industries.

Over three dozen machines were exhibited, including 13 new machines.  DMG exhibited a range of 5-axis machining centers from the most compact to those designed to machine extra large parts, and highlighted cutting demonstrations of die molds, gears, and medical parts.

ULTRASONIC 20 linear and LASERTEC 40 Shape machine technology was also very popular with visitors, responding to the challenge of highly efficient solutions for difficult-to-machine materials and surface texturing. Engineers from both Mori Seiki and Gildemeister collaborated to introduce and explain this sought after technology to the crowds of guests.

Another popular feature of this year’s event was the Cutting Dream Contest. Entries from the contest were displayed in the booth and showcased the impressive design and sophisticated cutting techniques used throughout the machine tool industry.  Over 80 entries were exhibited and the contest winners were invited to attend the award ceremony held on November 17.

Plant tours and seminars to introduce the latest products and machining technologies were also offered, attracting many Mori Seiki enthusiasts.  This next-generation machine tool show provided numerous solutions and potential technological advantages for customers' toughest machining challenges.
