Expansion for success
Breaking new ground— and building opportunity
On June 22, 2011, DMG / Mori Seiki USA broke ground on a 200,000-square-foot factory on a 14.5-acre site in Davis, Calif. The plant will be the company’s first manufacturing facility in North America—focusing initially on the popular new X-Class line.
The $50-million facility—which sits next door to our Digital Technology Laboratories (DTL)—will help meet rising market demands in North and South America and combat the disadvantages of a volatile global currency exchange.
Construction on the site continues, with an anticipated startup date of August 2012.
